Thunderstorm on Honeymoon Island
Plein air painting is always an adventure. I hadn't painted on the beach since March and was really itching to do some plein air painting. Rain was in the forecast but at 8PM. When I got to the beach it was cloudy with just a few little sprinkles. I set up at my favorite spot on the beach and after only 5 minutes or so all hell broke loose. A massive and powerful thunderstorm came barreling in. My gear went flying and my easel, paint box and I got soaked. It was super hard to collapse my gear because of the strong winds. Always an adventure painting en plein air. Glad I took some photos just before the storm so I was able to finish the painting in the studio.
